Adolescent Psychotherapy

Adolescence is a time of searching for a sense of self and personal identity, through an intense exploration of personal values, beliefs, and goals.

I work with adolescents aged 13 years and older.

I have over 14 years experience working with adolescents in a previous role. I have always had an interest in the development of a child into an adult and the difficulties and joys this period can bring for the entire family. I am also keenly interested in parenting and view parenting as fundamental in the development of the child and the adolescent.

Anxiety, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, isolation, gender identity, sexuality
, school difficulties are some of the reasons adolescents seek therapy. In therapy, the adolescent is given a non-judgmental, safe space to talk about whatever they want.

First Session
In our first session I will meet with the parenting adult(s) and young person together. We will discuss why they feel the young person would benefit from attending therapy, how I work with adolescents and address any concerns / questions the parenting adult(s) and adolescent may have about counselling.

On-going Sessions
On-going sessions will be 50 minutes to 1 hour in length and typically with the adolescent alone. Parenting adults may be invited to attend sessions from time to time (either alone or with their child), with the full knowledge of the young person.

Fee is €70 per session
